| After a shaky start all participants really got stuck into the project. They handed in the names of their murderer on Thursday, after which they only had a couple of hours to prepare a presentation with their evidence and reasoning.
On Thursday afternoon a fair bit of begging was going on to find out the answer, rather than wait for the final conclusion in Friday. Unfortunately their superintendent was just as determined not to reveal the truth. So come Friday morning all young detectives waited anxiously to see if they applied the correct logic. Naturally all the suspects had been trying their hardest this week to keep their secrets hidden. Some teams managed to uncover quite a lot of the truth and had they had a few more days, they probably would have reached the right conclusion. They watched the presentation by Mrs. Ford with huge interest to see where they went wrong. In the end the suspects won the task. However all praise should go to all the students taking part. Together they made the project work. They certainly had fun trying. We are especially proud of their fearlessness about speaking English and the way most of them worked together. It clearly shows the fantastic atmosphere of our school.
Old student Emmy Woestenburg put a lot of effort into this project which we would like to thank her for. The father of one of the students actually in London, Frank van der Brink, played his part as a suspect brilliantly and the detectives had a lot of fun questioning him. To be a new teacher at a school is daunting, but to take part in this project without knowing the students
definitely
shows she will be a great teacher and a wonderful addition to our staff. Thank you Nienke Binksma.
We finished the project with 'High tea' provided by Food 4 you. This was gratefully received by all of us. All students received a certificate. |
